About us

What we offer

Daycare from 2 years to Grade R and after school care up to Grade 7. Every learner is lovingly cared for by experienced, dedicated staff.

What parents can expect

All parents receive a weekly agenda so you can continue discussions at home and always know what your children are doing in their classes.

Every pupil receives four progress reports during the year, one at the end of each term. Parents are encouraged to attend “work in progress” mornings to view work in the classes, page through workbooks and chat to the class teacher.

Pre-School and Grade R pupils also complete a school readiness assessment.

Curriculum

An Early Childhood Development programme built on the National Curriculum Framework.

Our theme-based programme covers the six Early Learning Development Areas (ELDAs) and is aimed at children from birth to four years.

One · Well-being

Good health, nutrition, safety and security, so I can grow confident and resilient.

Two · Identity and belonging

A strong sense of self, positive relationships and celebrating differences.

Three · Communicating

Listening attentively, speaking openly, loving books and getting ready to read and write.

Four · Exploring mathematics

Finding patterns, making connections, sorting, matching and working with numbers.

Five · Creativity

Trying solutions in safety through play, drawing, painting, modelling, music and drama.

Six · Knowledge of the world

Making sense of the world through real participation and practical experiments.

Grade R

For Grade R we follow the School Readiness Programme based on the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS), designed to meet all requirements listed by the Department of Basic Education. Our theme-based programmes are developed by Day By Day Early Childhood Development.

Our social responsibility

Market days, cake sales and giving back

During school terms we host events to raise money for the Centre and for charity. Funds raised at our market days and cake sales are either donated to a charity of our choice, such as the animal shelter TEARS, or put back into the Centre. One market day alone raised over R5 000 for charity — and the children love every minute of it.
